What Exactly is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a natural state you easily flow in and out of during a single day. Normally, you function from your conscious mind, your thinking mind. However, throughout the day, about every 90 minutes, your subconscious mind takes over. It's totally natural and happens off and on all day long. Consider the time you were daydreaming at the traffic light because you were “thinking about other stuff” and suddenly heard “honk” from the car behind you. You were in a heightened state of awareness. Hypnosis is that heightened state of awareness.
You've experienced hypnosis when:
- You've been daydreaming.
- You've completed a task and didn't realize so much time had passed.
- Right before you fall asleep.
